Securing your inventions – Drafting and prosecution of patent applications
A patent may in many situations be an appropriate way to secure your business. However, there are also situations where it is more appropriate to keep the invention a secret or the invention is excluded from patentability. We help you determine if applying for a patent is appropriate under the particular circumstances.
We can assist you in drafting and filing a patent application which is in complience with relevant regulations around the world and which provides you with the most valuable protection possible considering the circumstances, such as the market and the available prior art. We also assist you in prosecuting your patent application to a granted patent.
Strategic advice
We offer services for preparing, implementing and/or revising an active IP strategy for the purpose of increasing the value and improving the business for our clients. These services are generally initiated with a workshop where we identify already present intellectual property for the purpose of increasing awareness, and discuss the current and future business strategy of our client. We also investigate if the intellectual property is appropriately secured and how to secure future intellectual property.
We also advice our clients in specific situations, for example in case of suspected patent infringement or at launch of new product to assess any potential risk of infringement in other intellectual property.
Another example of strategic advice is at an initial phase of R&D projects where we can advice on an appropriate focus of the project considering intellectual property of other parties, thereby avoiding development of a product which may not be launched at the end of the R&D project.
